Our Little River Ranch is located in South Texas, approx. 20 Miles from the Gulf of Mexico, in beautiful Matagorda County. We raise cattle, water fowl (geese and ducks), chicken and rabbits, we grow corn, potatoes and other vegtables. We don't use chemicals, no artificial herbicides or pesticides, no growth hormones or any other medication (execept for medical purposes). We treat our animals with respect and provide living conditions which accommodate the health and natural behavior of our animals.
 Organic Lifestyle
Why would anybody ignore the benefits of modern chemicals? Less work, more productivity and more money? This question is easily answered: Everything tastes better, is much healthier and doesn't infiltrate our bodies with hormones, chemicals and other potentially harmful substances. Watch the StoreWars movie for a fun introduction into the world of organic produce.
 Renewable Energy
We drive Electric Vehicles and are currently planning to build a 15Kw wind turbine. Why? Because we try to minimize our impact on nature and to save money. Running a ranch and caring for animals in a healthy environment has a profound impact. While providing a natural enviroment for our animals, our tools, fans, lamps, water pumps and electric cars continue to harm the enviroment by using energy generated by (mostly) fossil fuels. While we can't avoid using fuel driven machinery (like tractors) for the time being (though our trees soak up more then 40 tons of carbon dioxide per year thus making us carbon neutral), we try to use our natural and environmental resources as careful as possible.

Cowboys On The Ranch
Yes, there are still cowboys necessary to do the work. Though they arrive with a pickup truck and have their horses in a trailer.
Our cowboys still look and work like the guys we all know from the movies.
